Opening an account, screen by screen (Nigeria)
For anyone who wants the route before walking it: which screen comes next, what each asks for, and the field to fill before a first trade.
Registration is two fields — an email address and a password — and a few minutes. After that come screens: the account picker, the balance, the document check, the deposit screen, the trade screen. A demo passes the whole route without documents.
Seven stops follow, in the order they arrive. Stops five and six belong to the real-money route, so a reader who stays on a demo watches them go past. No stop has a deadline.
Three doors into the same account
One choice decides what every later screen looks like.
- Exness Terminal — runs in a web browser, nothing to install.
- The Exness Trade app — the version built for a phone.
- MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 — aimed at more experienced traders, not needed at the start.
A demo works through any of them, so practice is never tied to one device.
This site is an independent guide and opens no accounts. Every screen below belongs to the broker.
The seven stops
-
The address bar, before any screen
The tour starts outside the platform. The button at the foot of this page opens exness.com; when it loads, the address bar should read exness.com. Typed-from-memory addresses and links in messages are how lookalike copies collect visitors.
-
The sign-up form: two fields
An email address, a password, and the form is done — a few minutes to an account that exists. Use a password kept for nothing else: this login may hold real money later.
-
The account picker: demo, or real plus a type
A demo arrives filled with virtual money, asks for no documents and carries no time limit — mistakes on it cost nothing. A real account adds an account type on the same screen; Standard is the usual starting point, and the differences sit on the account types page.
-
The balance: the first number to find inside
Once inside, find the balance before touching anything else. Virtual money on it means the demo is the account open; which button was pressed a minute earlier is easy to misremember.
-
The document check — real accounts only
Before real money is traded, Exness asks for a document proving identity — a passport or a national ID — and usually a second confirming an address. Rules against fraud and money laundering oblige a broker to know who sits behind an account. A demo never sees this screen.
-
The deposit screen: read the figure first
The Standard account has no minimum deposit; other types carry one that depends on the region, shown during sign-up before any money is sent. A minimum is a floor, not a suggestion. Where money travels in and back out is set out in deposit and withdrawal basics.
-
The order screen, and the last field
The final stop is the trade screen. Beside the instrument and the size sits the stop-loss: an instruction that closes a trade by itself once the loss reaches a level chosen in advance. Fill it in on every trade, practice trades included; the level is worked through on risk basics.
Walking the route a second time
A tour is easier to trust on the second pass: sign in with nothing to decide and open the same screens in the same order.
A short log helps — sign-up date, the kind of money on the balance, the figure standing on the deposit screen. A screenshot does the same for anything carrying a number.
Questions asked along the way
Does anything have to be installed before looking around?
Exness Terminal runs in a web browser. On a phone, the Exness Trade app does that job.
Is MetaTrader needed to get started?
No. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are aimed at more experienced traders.
Does any of this need a computer?
No. A demo runs in the phone app and in a browser alike.
How is a demo screen told apart from a real one?
Two signs together: virtual money on the balance, and no document ever requested.
At which point does the document check appear?
On the real-money route only, before real trading starts. A demo never meets it.
Is the minimum deposit visible before any money moves?
Yes — during sign-up, ahead of any transfer. The Standard account carries no minimum.
What has to be set before a first trade?
One field: the stop-loss level, decided before the trade opens, not while it moves.
What happens if the tour stops halfway?
Nothing. The demo keeps working and the later screens wait, with no deadline.
Screens with a page of their own
The tour starts at the address bar.
A demo is the route with nothing at stake: virtual money, no documents, no time limit.
